An Intimate Mount Hope Farm Wedding in Bristol, Rhode Island

Elaina and Andrew chose a Mount Hope Farm wedding because it’s a place that already felt connected to their lives. Being close to where they grew up and celebrating with the people who have been part of their life together made the day feel so genuine and full of purpose.

Mount Hope Farm in Bristol, Rhode Island, is already a beautiful venue on its own. But for Elaina and Andrew? It held something deeper. Both of them are from Tiverton, just one town over, and choosing this venue felt like coming home! Their story began in college, and over the years they built a beautiful relationship. Getting married in a place that felt close to their history made the day even more special. And as a Bristol wedding photographer, I was honored to be chosen to capture their beautiful wedding day.

A Farm Wedding in Rhode Island

Elaina spent the morning getting ready in the home she shares with Andrew in Bristol, surrounded by her sister and closest friends. It set the tone for the entire day. Familiar, comfortable, and filled with the people who’ve supported their relationship from the beginning. With a guest count of about 90 people, their wedding felt intimate in the best way. Everyone there knew them, loved them, and had watched their relationship evolve, creating an atmosphere that was warm and full of emotion even before the ceremony began.

An Emotional Ceremony at Mount Hope Farm

Instead of doing a first look, Elaina and Andrew chose to see each other for the first time at the altar. It made the ceremony even more emotional. From the moment they saw each other, the tears didn’t stop for the rest of the ceremony! Standing under a wooden arbor draped in white and surrounded by greenery, they exchanged vows in front of the people who mean the most to them. I feel so grateful to have been a part of such a deeply moving ceremony.

Their ceremony wasn’t complicated – it was emotional, honest, and exactly right for them.

A Gorgeous Outdoor Wedding Venue in Rhode Island

For couples thinking about a Mount Hope Farm wedding, this venue has a little bit of everything Rhode Island is loved for. Wide open fields, stone walls, coastal light, tall trees, and classic New England charm. It manages to feel both historic and peaceful, which makes it a favorite wedding venue of mine.

The outdoor ceremony space is surrounded by greenery that glows beautifully at golden hour. The property has so many great spots for portraits, from the long stone walls to the open lawns and private corners of the grounds. Elaina and Andrew and I spent some time during cocktail hour taking portraits all over the property. This venue has so many amazing spots, I could find new corners to fall in love with every time.

The barn at Mount Hope Farm is one of its biggest highlights! A warm, rustic space with string lights overhead and wood detailing throughout. It feels inviting and cozy while still being an elevated wedding space.

Sunset Portraits & Private Vows Under a Full Moon

One of the most meaningful parts of the day (and my personal favorite) happened after sunset. Under a clear sky and a bright full moon, Elaina and Andrew exchanged private vows. Just the two of them, standing together on the stone terrace with the moon above them, holding hands and speaking from the heart. It’s rare to see a moment that quiet and grounding on a wedding day. Being there with them for that exchange is something I won’t forget.

An Intimate Wedding Reception

Their reception took place inside the barn at Mount Hope Farm, where guests sat beneath strings of warm lights and toasted the newlyweds. Silver Arrow Band kept the dance floor full all night! With a small guest list, the night felt close-knit, and you could just tell everyone was having a blast.

“Nick was not only a master behind the camera but also a true professional! We cannot say enough nice things about him! He made us feel so comfortable whilst capturing the most magical day of our lives. Couldn’t have imagined better pictures! The wedding wouldn’t have been the same without him. I don’t think there is a better photographer out there — someone who captures every raw emotion, yet remains so professional, and has such a special passion for photography is rare.”

Mount Hope Farm Wedding Venue Overview

Mount Hope Farm is designed with several spaces that work beautifully for a wedding:

  • Outdoor Ceremony Lawn: A wide, open space surrounded by greenery, perfect for traditional ceremonies and ones with larger guest counts.
  • Historic Barn: Used for receptions, there are string lights, wood interiors, and a warm, classic feel. Ideal for dinner, toasts, and dancing.
  • Portrait Locations: A big, beautiful property makes it easy to stay there the whole day and not have to drive to another location for portraits. This helps the wedding day flow so nicely!
  • Property Layout: The property is spread out enough to give couples privacy while still being walkable for guests. Whether you’re hosting a Barn reception or using the Cove Cabin area for a waterfront ceremony or tented celebration, the day flows naturally from one space to the next.

What I love most when shooting weddings here is how naturally the day flows. It doesn’t feel cramped or overly formal, and it has a relaxed Rhode Island charm that works wonderfully for both intimate and larger weddings.
